I closed out my January training on Saturday with an 8 mile run with Heather and Karrie. It was the first long run of the training cycle for the Cleveland Marathon. I have agreed to help Heather and Karrie achieve their goal of running a marathon. The run went pretty well and we survived even though it was a chilly 11 degrees (feels like 0) when we were out there.
8 miles done despite our frozen eyelashes and the chilly temperatures |

2015 Mission check-in
Mission #1: Complete 6 monthly challenges
Action Plan: Find monthly challenges online.
Action Plan: Actually complete the monthly challenge.
Mission #1 was a success this month. Even though I missed one day due to being very sick and forgetting to do the wall sit for the day, I was able to complete the challenge because it was 30 days so I had an extra day in January to work with. I started my second 30 day challenge on Sunday.
My January 30 Day Challenge |
Mission #2: Cross off at least 3 more states in Deb, Nikki, and I's quest to run a 1/2 marathon in all 50 states (we have 36 states left....we best get moving...we aren't getting any younger!!)
Action Plan: Research 1/2 marathons in the states we haven't completed yet.
Action Plan: Actually register and participate in said 1/2 marathons.
So far we have completed AZ, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, NV, OH, PA, TN, and TX |
Action Plan: Run.
Action Plan: Run some more.
Mission #4: Complete 4 stair workouts per month.
Action Plan: Do one stair workout per week.
Mission #4 was going very well until I was hit pretty hard with a sinus infection and awful cold. It kept me home from work for two days and unable to exercise for a good five days. I completed 3 stair workouts in January. I would say that is success as I know if I hadn't been sick I would have gotten that 4th stair workout in the final week in January.
Tissues and Tea- My last week of January- 30 Day Challenge still completed inspite of it all |
Mission #5: Cook more and eat healthier
Action Plan: Plan ahead with recipes and food prep.
Action Plan: Utilize my crockpot more often.
Mission #5 is coming along slowly. The crockpot came out of storage several times in January.
All in all I would say January was a decent month. I didn't have a ton of running mileage but that's okay. There are still 11 months left in the year.
Keep running, you're simply the best, and you inspire me!!
You are on your way girl!!! I miss my crock pot! I think it may be time to buy another! Come on over to MA....we have lots of awesome halfs!
